| In China bicycles are used for so much more than recreation and
exercise! And rarely did we see a helmet or hand signal! Beijing has
bike lanes that are far more organized
and dangerous than any of our highways. No seat belts, no helmets, 2-3 people per bike and they would carry ANYTHING to transport it from A to B. We treat our bikes like precious cargo and these folks ride bikes that are older than I am, have no air, wiggly wheels and no brakes and they transport, children, food, work, and commerce. It was incredible to see the variety of 2 & 3 wheelers and how they were being used. Check it out! |
